The Story
The Todos Dias VR3 is Vans' first men's sandal made sustainably. It features a synthetic nubuck strap and recycled textile lining, along with a biobased VR3Cush™ midsole and footbed foam for added comfort. The VR3Waffle™ outsole offers modern design combined with classic Vans style. To achieve the VR3 Checkerboard globe logo, at least 30% of the sandal must be made of recycled, renewable, and/or regenerative materials. Vans uses water-based inks and glues in their production process, and they strive for ambitious sustainability goals.
- UPPER MATERIAL Synthetic nubuck upper strap and textile lining made with PU coated 100% recycled PET.
- FOOTBED The new VR3Cush™ footbed is made using at least 50% biobased EVA foam partially derived from plants per the ASTM D6866-16 testing standard, with midsole filler using at least 25% biobased EVA foam.
- OUTSOLE All of the rubber used to make the VR3Waffle™ outsole (60% of the compound) is regeneratively grown natural rubber sourced from farms utilizing agricultural practices that are intended to promote biodiversity, enhance water cycles, improve soil health, and/or sequester carbon. This new rubber compound was developed and engineered to maintain the grip and durability Vans has been known for since ‘66.
